Have you been feeling more tired, irritable or perhaps forgetful lately?
Recently I have come across more and more staff within schools and other organisations reportedly feeling overwhelmed and struggling to cope.
A number of factors seem to be contributing to this – from heavy workloads and unhelpful dynamics to pandemic related anxiety – we are finding that many are feeling more stressed, unsupported and at times lost.
On top of this, our lives outside of work often hold their own set of challenges.
It is no wonder that achieving that sought after work/life balance can feel like a nearly impossible task.
It can be hard to think of what we can do to make some positive changes, especially when our lives feel busier and busier.
To begin with, why not try these three simple steps:
PAUSE, BREATHE, TAKE STOCK.
As basic as it may seem, just acknowledging our feelings in the moment, and allowing ourselves to experience them without guilt or pressure to suppress them, can be incredibly helpful.
Our supervision sessions for professionals in schools and other organisations focus on emotional and psychological wellbeing, resilience and personal development. We believe that being proactive, rather than reactive, can often be the key to successfully managing challenging working environments, demands and expectations.
